Business Operations — built to run without you in the room.
I'm Kaitlyn Phipps, an operations consultant with 15+ years turning tangled processes into ones people can actually rely on — vendor sourcing and procurement, systems, billing, and the day-to-day operations that keep a business moving. Ways to work together
Every engagement is scoped to what you actually need — here's the shape those usually take.
Vendor & tools consultation
10–40 hrsA focused engagement to evaluate and select the vendors and tools your operations run on — procurement and quoting included.
Process design & review
10–40 hrsA close look at an existing process — or building one from scratch — with documentation and standard operating procedures your team can actually follow.
Operations management
Short or long termOngoing, hands-on ops leadership — assessing how your team is performing, identifying where processes can be automated or streamlined, and helping determine whether your current staffing meets the need (including whether it's time to bring on a full-time operations hire).
Temporary operations coverage
As neededTrusted, experienced fill-in coverage for small businesses whose operations admin is out on leave, so nothing sits waiting for someone to get back.
Every package above can be customized — these are starting points, not fixed menus, so we can build something that fits your company's specific needs.
The short version
“Bringing order to chaos — professionally, and at home with four dogs.”
I've spent my career in the parts of a business most people never see — the operations systems, the SaaS platforms, the compliance audits, the vendor agreements, the HR processes that quietly keep everyone paid and covered.
Most recently I've been working independently, helping companies in the education technology space build documentation standards, tighten operational compliance, and keep HR and vendor systems running smoothly — the kind of work that's usually invisible until it isn't done well. Across my time in consulting and nonprofits, I've served over 150 clients, with half of them being Fortune 500 companies.
Outside of work, I've been married to my wife Kerry for 14 years, and together we're moms to four dogs — a Korean Jindo, a Rottweiler, and two Westies. We tend to gravitate toward rescuing senior and disabled dogs, though we've recently welcomed a couple of younger pups into the mix too. When we're not home with the pack, we're usually planning our next trip — a good road trip especially. I'm also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, a diehard New York Giants fan, and always up for a conversation about anything Marvel.
Where the work happened
I spent 12 years at Willis Towers Watson, starting as a business analyst and working my way up to leading the Financial Solutions team and, later, administrative governance across multiple client accounts. It's where I learned how to run SaaS administration, compliance documentation, and client relationships at scale — and how to mentor a team through all of it.
From there I moved into billing and revenue management at GlobalGiving, where I rebuilt the financial operations system from the ground up and managed the full invoicing lifecycle for corporate partner accounts. It's the kind of work that taught me how much smoother a business runs when its operations and its systems are actually talking to each other.
Today I run that same playbook independently through AMP Services, a division of KP Trainers. It's also where my work expanded into procurement and vendor sourcing — quoting and managing relationships with manufacturers and distributors like Cisco, TD Synnex, and D&H alongside the operations processes and documentation that let a team scale without things falling through the cracks.
